Talking about the future

This module teaches the Persian words for ambitions, careers and study. Every word comes with three things: the Persian script, a transliteration in brackets to help you say it, and the English meaning. Remember that Persian is read right to left. You will recognise the words and their meanings here, not type them. (A native speaker should review the script before launch.)

Your turn: your ambition, in Persian

Write about your ambition IN PERSIAN. Write in Persian script - the transliteration in brackets is a reading aid only.

• Name the idea: آرزو (arezu - an ambition), هدف (hadaf - a goal) or حرفه (herfe - a career)
• Say what you like with دوست دارم (dust daram - I like): کار دوست دارم (kar dust daram - I like work)
• Name where you would study, or the route you would take: دانشگاه (daneshgah - university), کارآموزی (karamuzi - an apprenticeship)
• You may add داوطلب (davtalab - a volunteer)

Learn all three Persian forms

To master this vocabulary, link every word to all three of its forms: the Persian script, the transliteration so you can say it, and the English meaning. Keep the ideas that are easy to confuse clearly apart - an آرزو (arezu), your ambition, versus a real حرفه (herfe), the career you build - and link the study words (دانشگاه, کارآموزی) to the goal. Reading each word right to left, saying it aloud, and testing yourself both ways is what builds real recall.
