The last assessment objective in GCSE Art, AO4, asks you to present a personal and meaningful final response that realises your intentions. This is more than a nice finished picture: it should clearly grow out of the ideas, sources and experiments you worked through earlier. This module looks at what makes a strong final response.

Grade 9 thinking 💡
Moderators look for a connected journey, not an impressive piece on its own. A grade 9 final response can be traced back to the AO1 investigation that started it, through the recording and experimenting stages. Visual language is shown using the six formal elements: colour, line, form, shape, tone and texture.
