Shared celebrations
All around the world, festivals, music and dance bring people together. This module teaches the Turkish words for those shared events. Turkish uses the Latin alphabet, but watch the special letters - ç, ğ, ı, ö, ş, ü - which are part of the spelling (müzik, şarkı). Each word comes with its English meaning. (A native speaker should review the Turkish before launch.)

Turkish closes the sentence with the verb
The festival words become sentences with the verb at the end, and a grade-9 answer never stops at the opinion: - Ben müziği seviyorum = "I like music". Ben (I), then what, then the verb last. müzik takes -i because it is the thing being liked. - Müziği seviyorum çünkü dans var = "I like music because there is dancing". çünkü (because) joins the reason to the opinion. That second half is what lifts the mark, and var closes it in the usual way.
