The parts of the day: - **μέρα (mera)** = day - **πρωί (proi)** = morning - **βράδυ (vradi)** = evening - **νύχτα (nychta)** = night

How the writing works 🔤

Greek is written in the **Greek alphabet**, a true **alphabet** where each letter stands for one sound, read **left to right**. Unlike the abugida and abjad languages, Greek **has capital and small letters**, and an **accent** sits over the stressed vowel, as in μέρα (mera).
