Gender and accents 🔤
Every Italian noun is **masculine** (with **il**) or **feminine** (with **la**): il giorno, la notte. Some words also carry a written **accent** you must not drop, like **caffè** (coffee) and **è** (the word for "is"). The accent is part of the spelling.
