The one thing Spanish does that English never does

The school words become sentences with me gusta (I like) and es (is). Spanish also does one thing English never does - it puts a small a in front of a person who is the object of a verb: - Me gusta el colegio = "I like school". Spanish keeps el in front of colegio where English drops it. Me gusta is literally "it is pleasing to me". - Veo a mi profesor porque es simpático = "I see my teacher because he is nice". The a before mi profesor is the personal a: Spanish marks a person who is on the receiving end of the verb. porque then joins the reason.
