Saying where you live
The place words become sentences once you add a pattern. Panjabi puts "in" after the noun, never before it, and the verb comes last and agrees with you: - ਮੈਂ ਲੰਡਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ = "I live in London" (said by a male speaker). A female speaker says ਮੈਂ ਲੰਡਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ. Note ਵਿੱਚ sits after ਲੰਡਨ - the same postposition you met in ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਰ. - ਮੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲ ਹੈ = "there is a bridge in my town". ਮੇਰੇ is "my", ਸ਼ਹਿਰ is "town", and ਹੈ ("is") closes the sentence. This pattern does not change with the speaker.
