Phrases to introduce yourself

These four phrases open almost any conversation about yourself. Learn them by heart.

The verb changes depending on who you talk about. Compare the two.

Use ser to describe

To say who someone is or what they are like, use the verb ser. For example, es mi hermano means he is my brother, and es simpático means he is nice. Ser is used for identity, relationships and personality.
