How can people be saved?
Christians believe that sin separates people from God, and that on their own people cannot put this right. They believe that God acted through Jesus Christ to make salvation possible. Sin and atonement
Christians believe that sin, which means acting against the will of God, separates people from God. The idea of original sin traces this tendency back to the first humans. They believe the death of Jesus brings atonement, repairing the broken relationship between God and humanity so that people can be forgiven.
