Estar para estados

We use estar for temporary states and feelings:

¿Ser o estar?

Both mean "to be", but they are used differently. Use ser for permanent traits and identity (soy español, es alto). Use estar for temporary states, feelings, health and location (estoy cansado, está en casa). Health and feelings almost always take estar.
