What you'll cover

The cost of following ✝️

In **Mark's Gospel** Jesus is clear that following him has a **cost**, and that a disciple must put him before everything else. This module weighs that cost and asks what discipleship looks like for Christians in the 21st century.

Words to know 🔑

What it costs, what it gives ⚖️

Jesus taught that discipleship is **demanding**, but that it leads somewhere worth the cost.

The rich man walks away 💰

A rich man asked Jesus how to gain eternal life. He had kept the commandments, but when Jesus told him to sell his possessions and give to the poor, he went away sad. Jesus said it is hard for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God, but that with God all things are possible (Mark 10:17-31).
