What you'll cover

Everyone with a stake

A business affects many groups of people, and they all have an interest in how it does. These groups are its stakeholders. Some are inside the business and some are outside it, and each one wants something different from it. This module maps out who the main stakeholders are and what each of them is looking for.

Stakeholder vocabulary

Learn these four terms before you map the stakeholders.

Inside or outside

Stakeholders are either inside or outside the business.

Name what each one wants

A top answer never says a stakeholder just cares about the business. It names the exact interest: an owner looking for a return, an employee wanting fair pay, a customer after quality, a supplier hoping for steady orders, a community wanting jobs without pollution. Because these interests differ, they can pull against each other, which the conflict module then explores.
