Going on holiday
To talk about travel and holidays in Spanish you need words for transport and places, and a way to say where things are. This module builds your Spanish vocabulary for travel and tourism, and shows how the verb estar is used to say where a place is located.
Travel words
Start with four useful words. Each Spanish word is shown with its English meaning.
Saying where things are
You can say where a place is with a full sentence, using the verb estar.
Say where with estar
To say where a place is, use the verb estar. For example, El aeropuerto está en la capital means the airport is in the capital city. Use está with a place to say exactly where it is, and add a reason with porque if you can.
