You already know that every Greek noun is masculine, feminine or neuter, and that ο, η and το change to match. This module is about what that knowledge is FOR. The moment you say where you are going, Greek makes you use the gender. Every word below is shown with its **article**, then a **transliteration**, then the **English**, so the gender comes free with the word.
Key words 🗂️
The nouns a traveller needs, each with the article that tells you its gender:
Match each word to its meaning
- το εισιτήριο (to eisitirio)
- ο σταθμός (o stathmos)
- η τιμή (i timi)
- το κλειδί (to kleidi)
- the ticket
- the station
- the price
- the key
Where the gender earns its keep ➡️
To say **to the** or **at the**, Greek uses **σε** joined to the article. The two words merge, and which form you get depends on the gender you already know: • masculine: σε + τον gives **στον** - πάω **στον σταθμό**, I am going to the station • feminine: σε + την gives **στην** - πάω **στην παραλία**, I am going to the beach • neuter: σε + το gives **στο** - είμαι **στο ξενοδοχείο**, I am at the hotel This is why learning the article with every noun pays off. Get the gender and the right form follows automatically.
