In the writing exam you translate short English sentences into **German**. On the theme of **travel and tourism**, that means knowing the words, their **gender** (der, die, das) and that every noun takes a **capital letter**. Gender and capitals 🇩🇪
Two things make or break a German translation: - The **gender**: **der** Zug (m), **die** Reise (f), **das** Hotel (n), and **die** for plurals (die Ferien) - Every **noun** takes a **capital letter**: der Strand, das Gepäck, die Fahrkarte Learn each word with its article and capital from the start, and watch for the special letters like the a-umlaut in Gepäck.
